Just finished “A Dance with Dragons” and I’m bored so…

** SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR A DANCE WITH DRAGONS **

I HATE GEORGE R. R. MARTIN. I DO. I HATE HIM. I’m so bored by everything ASOIAF right now. Cliffhangers, suspense, there’s nothing of the sort anymore! You just expect the worst and the worst happens every.single.time. I get that this is a Medieval-style fantasy and everything Medieval is apparently cruel and depressing, but you got to give me just A BIT of happiness to chew on here, George. JUST A BIT. To get me on! Nothing positive happens… EVER. No matter if you’re mainly bad or mainly good, everything just goes to shit, and when you think there can’t be anything worse, you learn that there’s no end to it. After five books it just gets old.

The only reunion I was interested to read about (Asha and Theon’s) got cut off at the end of a chapter and we’ll have to wait the next book to know what happens.

Dany kept complaining about the same things in every.single.chapter. The same goes for all the other main characters… at least Tyrion’s storyline was a bit more dynamic, but aside from that… princes and suitors and Targaryens popping out from everywhere… just NO.

SYNTHESIZE, MAN. SYNTHESIZE. We don’t need six more books of in-between stuff and new characters we don’t give a damn about.

(Two positive things: I knew fake!Arya was actually Jeyne XD kept predicting that for a while. Plus, was the ice dragon old Nan talked about ever mentioned before this book? Because I kind of predicted an epic showdown between Dany’s dragons - or those who survive - and an ice dragon. They’re apparently undefeatable so I guess they’d need an equal to fight with to keep things interesting).

Yes, can you tell I’m bored? Cause I am. Thank God I’m gonna be like 45 when the next book comes out.
